Why We Love It
Standing on Mars Hill, looking out over Athens the way Paul would have before addressing the philosophers gathered there, is one of those moments where two thousand years compress into nothing. The rock is worn smooth by exactly this — travelers making the same climb for the same reason, for centuries.
Corinth, an hour outside the city, is quieter and less visited, but for anyone who's read 1 and 2 Corinthians, walking through the marketplace ruins where Paul actually stood adds a dimension no commentary can.
