Destination
Barbados
Beach resort meets centuries of church history — one of the few Caribbean islands where both interests genuinely overlap.
Why We Love It
Barbados quietly does double duty for us: it's a genuinely excellent beach-resort destination on the calm western Platinum Coast, and it's one of the only Caribbean islands with a church history deep enough to interest a faith-focused group — parishes here date back to the 1600s and are still active congregations today, not just historic sites.
For a family that wants beach time and a grandparent who wants the history and the churches, Barbados is one of the rare islands where nobody has to compromise on what the trip is actually for.
Highlights
- Platinum Coast beaches on the calmer west side
- St. John's Parish Church, dating to the 1600s
- A strong Anglican and Methodist heritage, visible island-wide
- Direct flights from major US East Coast cities
